Planning a Buffalo River trip gets a little more complicated when you're traveling with a big group. Finding things to do usually isn't the problem. Finding one place where everyone can actually stay together is.

The main house sleeps up to 16 guests, and for even larger groups, an apartment add-on can accommodate another four guests, bringing the total capacity to 20. Over the years, we've had all kinds of groups stay at Ratterman Ranch. Families have gathered here for reunions, friends have made it their home base for Buffalo River trips, and we've had guests stay here while celebrating weddings and other special occasions.

When you're getting a lot of people together, you don't necessarily want everyone disappearing to separate rentals at the end of the day. You want somewhere you can make breakfast together in the morning, sit around and catch up in the evening, let the kids get outside, and actually spend time together without constantly coordinating where everyone needs to be next.

And during the day, everyone can do their own thing. Some of the group can head out to hike or explore the Buffalo River while others stay back at the ranch, and everybody can meet back up for dinner that evening.

With Jasper and the Buffalo National River nearby, there's plenty to do when everyone wants to get out and explore. But with mountain views, a hot tub, outdoor spaces, and plenty of room back at the house, you don't have to spend the entire trip away from Ratterman Ranch either.

The large kitchen is well stocked with cooking tools for everything from breakfast before a day on the Buffalo River to dinner back at the ranch. Outside, the covered porch and grill give you a great place to cook, eat, and enjoy the mountain setting. Spend some time relaxing on the swing, or end the day in the hot tub after hiking and exploring. It’s all set up so you can unpack, get comfortable, and enjoy your getaway.
